Spring break in Boca Raton 2027: school dates, camps, what's open

Palm Beach County spring break 2027 is March 22-26, with an extra day off March 10. City camps, beach parking, free things to do and what the city did in 2026.

Spring break 2027 for Palm Beach County public schools is Monday, March 22, through Friday, March 26. Students also get a spring holiday on Wednesday, March 10. Easter falls the Sunday after the break, March 28. The city’s spring camps and events for 2027 will be listed in its Spring Recreator, due Dec. 1; until then, here is what we know, with last year’s programs marked as 2026.

Camps and day programs

The city publishes spring camps in the Spring Recreator. In 2026 its day-off programs included Great Escape Days at the Children’s Science Explorium (10 a.m. to 2 p.m., ages 6 to 12, $35 residents and $43.75 nonresidents) and one-day camps at Sugar Sand Park Community Center such as Mad Science: Spy Academy on Friday, April 3, 2026 (ages 6 to 11). Registration for the 2026 programs opened Dec. 1 for residents and Dec. 8 for nonresidents, so watch for the 2027 dates in early December.

The beach

Boca Raton’s city beach parks are South Beach Park, Red Reef Park and Spanish River Park. You need an annual beach vehicle permit or a daily entry fee to park in them; daily fees are higher on weekends and holidays, and from Oct. 1, 2026, gatehouses do not take cash (beach permits). Red Reef Park has snorkel areas and a playground, and Spanish River Park has volleyball courts and Bark Beach for permitted dogs. More in our parks and trails guide and dog-friendly guide.

Things to do

Festival of the Arts BOCA, March 5-14, 2027, before spring break; tickets on sale Nov. 1 (Festival of the Arts BOCA).
Children’s Science Explorium, Sugar Sand Park: free, for ages 5 to 12, open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends (Explorium).
Gumbo Limbo Nature Center: boardwalk and tower 7 a.m. to sunset, aquariums 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday (Gumbo Limbo).

In 2026 the city also held Touch a Truck at the Spanish River Library (Saturday, March 21, free) and the Boca Street Fest at Mizner Park Amphitheater (Saturday, March 28, noon to 4 p.m., free), with live performances, a beer garden and a marketplace. 2027 dates are not out yet.

What is open

Libraries: both city libraries are open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
Sugar Sand Park: 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday (8 p.m. in daylight saving time).
City offices stay open; spring break is not a city holiday.
