Trunk-or-treat

Trunk-or-treats, where cars park in a lot with decorated trunks and children go car to car, are usually run by churches, schools and community groups. None in Boca Raton had published 2026 dates when we checked on Oct. 19. Last year the Boca Raton Police Foundation held one on Oct. 24, 2025, for the children of Boca Raton police officers, according to the foundation; it was not open to the public. We will add public 2026 trunk-or-treats here as organizers post them.

Staying safe

  • Go with an adult or in a group, and carry a flashlight or glow sticks so drivers can see you.
  • Stay on sidewalks, cross at corners, and visit only houses with the lights on.
  • Check candy at home and throw out anything unwrapped or homemade from strangers.
  • Drivers: slow down in neighborhoods from dusk on Saturday; children dart between cars.
