How admission works
Charter schools have no attendance zone. Somerset Academy Boca admits new students by lottery, and its registration page says it is not a district choice school and does not follow the district’s choice timelines. For the 2027-28 school year it lists:
- Dec. 1-11, 2026: re-enrollment for current students, with sibling applications
- Jan. 11-29, 2027: public lottery application period
- Feb. 26, 2027: lottery results
- March 5, 2027: deadline to accept a seat
- March 19, 2027: enrollment packet due
The lottery gives first preference to Boca Raton residents in ZIP codes 33431, 33432, 33433, 33434, 33486, 33487 and 33496, then to other Palm Beach County residents; remaining seats go to families outside the county. Siblings of current students get preference when seats allow, the page says, and students who apply after the lottery go on a waitlist in the order received. In-person open houses for prospective parents are at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, and 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10.
The district’s charter directory lists the school’s opening as Aug. 20, 2013, and its current charter as a 15-year renewal running through June 30, 2032.
